After the success of NFL PRO ERA II, the team and I took a step back to truly evaluate what’s best for you, the player. This introspection led to some significant changes in how we’re developing this experience, ensuring no stone was left unturned.

VR Sports at Its Finest

We understand that virtual reality, and virtual reality sports gaming, is still a growing industry, and it hasn't yet reached the critical mass of its console or PC counterparts. Interestingly, we’ve found that players are engaging with both PRO ERA games equally. Our vision is to bring players together, fostering deep social interactions and competitive gameplay in an always-on environment.

To achieve this, we’ve opted not to release annual titles. Instead, we’re focusing on a single, evolving NFL PRO ERA that operates via a live service model, blending free and premium content. Major updates will include new positions, mechanics, and cosmetic upgrades like uniforms and gear, allowing you to define your persona. Free content will enhance simulation, art, sound, and animations, giving you the freedom to customize your experience. It’s your world, we just live in it!

Seamless Transition for Existing Players

All current owners of NFL PRO ERA and NFL PRO ERA II will automatically receive the all-new live version of NFL PRO ERA via an update this fall, with an option to purchase additional upgrades at a reduced price.

When reimagining the overall experience, we centered our development on three key pillars: Story, Simulation, and Social. Let’s dive deeper into what each of these entails.

Story: Your NFL Journey, Your Choices

In NFL PRO ERA, player autonomy and Football IQ are driven through organic, story-driven interactions with your teammates and coaches. You’ll learn the sport of football and make meaningful decisions based on the suggestions, reactions, and personalities of your teammates and coaches. This immersive storytelling experience can only be delivered in first-person, and we’re excited for you to feel the huddle come to life as you interact with your team.

Simulation: The Most Realistic VR Football Experience

The gameplay in NFL PRO ERA will look and feel fundamentally different with improved offensive play and new playbooks. It will be the most realistic VR football experience to date. Our largest premium update introduces defense, focusing on the linebacker position. This extends to competitive multiplayer, slated for release this winter. We believe a consolidated user base will drive the experience for those seeking high-level competition or social play with friends and family.

Social: Connect and Compete in New Ways

NFL PRO ERA will feature an improved Free Play Mode with a new locker room and multiplayer lounge where you can create your athlete persona in an open-ended environment, interact with fellow players, and play football however you want. Additionally, you’ll have the option to purchase monthly seasonal uniforms and gear to further customize your avatar.
